“Muslim states have a duty to have cooperation and convergence to stop the Zionists’ crimes against Palestinians as soon as possible,” Raeisi said during the phone call on Wednesday night.

He said the recent tensions in occupied territories are rooted in the continued oppression of Palestinians and systematic discrimination of the Zionist Apartheid against the people of Palestine.

Referring to the Tel Aviv regime’s bombing of innocent people in the Gaza Strip and cutting off water and electricity to the residents, the Iranian president said the occupation regime is taking revenge for its historic defeat from the oppressed and defenseless people.

The only solution to the Palestinian issue is paying attention to the inalienable rights of the people of Palestine, he further underlined.

He said the recent developments proved that no strategy would work without taking into account the Palestinian people’s rights.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Raeisi said the Islamic Republic of Iran, based on the principle of unity in the Islamic world and good neighborliness seeks to bolster and deepen ties with Saudi Arabia.

The two countries’ relations have the capacity to contribute to the strengthening of the region’s stability and security, he stressed.

Bin Salman, for his part, hailed the joint cooperation between Iran and Saudi Arabia for enhancing stability in the region, especially given the recent developments in Palestine.

He described the resumption of ties between Tehran and Riyadh as the start of a trend of cooperation and convergence and hailed the good efforts underway for the development of bilateral relations.

He also said the developments in Gaza in recent days are painful and dangerous, adding that the ongoing violations of Palestinians’ rights could lead to escalation and spread of insecurity to other parts of the world, including Western countries.

Bin Salman said all countries, including Western states, have realized today that a failure to resolve the issue of Palestine could also cause many problems for those countries.

He went on to say that cooperation between Tehran and Riyadh could play an effective role in putting an end to the conflict and then striving to reach a just and fair solution for the issue of Palestine.
